Kiwi 12 Day Tour
Kiwi 12 Day Tour
Our family of 4 did the 12 Day Kiwi Tour over Christmas with 6 other travelers and our intrepid guide Dianne Dobbs. It was a vacation we will never forget. From our first queries to the Moatrek office last year to our hugs goodbye on the last day, our experience has been nothing short of the perfect holiday. We would not change one thing about the itinerary, the varied activities from active to otherworldly to jaw droppingly beautiful, the hotels, the special lunches, the serendipitous side tours, even the many rest stop cafes were each a pleasure in their own ways. Our guide Di was wonderful - knowledgeable and passionate about her country, with the ability to turn strangers into a family in a matter of hours, quick thinking and adaptable when she needed to be, and in control of every situation. Despite NZ being 21 hours away, I think the 4 of us can envision coming back again.
Dianne - You're a blessing to your company, to New Zealand, and to the numpties lucky enough to have spent the last 12 days under your expert care! You rock in so many ways. Thank you for your incredible patience and attention to every detail as we were introduced to this breathtaking country.
So enjoyed our lunch at the farm, charming couple, who really were delightful. The tour of the Kiwi farm, the Tasman Glacier Lake was another highlight, plus the Maori dance and Show, excellent. The lunch with the couple on their boat was lovely very enlightening.
Our guide Di was quite wonderful and a real asset to your company. Her bright smile greeting us each morning, going really beyond her job to make sure all were having fun. She not only was a great driver, very knowledgeable about New Zealand. She kept us on task with humor, and kindness, and was a true representative of "New Zealand's people, full of warmth and beauty."
I thought that the Kiwi tour really took you through the best of your country in the amount of time we had.
MoaTrek gave us a great introduction to New Zealand. Their multitude of activities allowed us to tailor our tour to our interests and even have a day off if that suited us. The tour guide was very knowledgable and competent an we had no problems. Outstanding value for money and we would select MoaTrek again.
I did not enjoy leaving the tour. Our guide, Tim De Jong, did a great job of "building the band," that is, our tour group. We all became friends. It was bittersweet to leave our new friends at the end of our tour segment. MoaTrek did an outstanding job of bringing people together and enabling us to make new friends.
I told my travel agent that I would recommend Moa Trek turns for anyone wanting to tour New Zealand in a small group. Breakfast buffets were awesome! Especially liked the Novotel Breakfast in Rotorua. My favourite activities were the lunch at the Forrest Estates winery in Marlborough, the Maori show and Hangi dinner in Rotorua, the private Lunch at the Akaunui homestead, the hike in Abel Tasman National Park and the catamaran ride and hot pools on Lake Rotoiti. Nigel was an awesome bus drive and guide! He was knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. I'm so glad he was our guide.
I have done quite a bit of independent traveling and this was my first group tour. I was a bit apprehensive about having someone else be in charge of my activities and schedule, but the itinerary for the Kiwi tour looked relaxed and covered both islands, so I took a chance. It just could not have been more enjoyable! The tour was balanced between busy days and free time, the experiences were unique and full of variety. Our guide, Andrew, was knowledgeable and fun, and our fellow travellers made the trip very special. Every single day was exciting as we toured the exceptionally beautiful New Zealand islands!
This was the trip of a lifetime for me. It met and exceeded my expectations! I can't recall another time in my life that I had such a good time for two weeks. I feel like I was given New Zealand on a silver platter! The trip was well set up, the activities suitable to all adults, the accommodations exceptional, the food and company pleasurable, the knowledge of the guide superb, the coach comfortable for longer days of travel, the office group very helpful each step of the way, and that I got to see so much of New Zealand that I will always have wonderful memories to look back on. In fact, I am putting a book together of my pictures so I can show people how beautiful the country is and what I was privileged to see and do. Thank you MoaTrek for the time of my life!
Having toured New Zealand over 40 times I highly recommend Moatrek as their tour planning is excellent. They offer great landscape drives, the best of scenic highlights, very comfortable, well located accommodations with friendly pro active staff. Their smaller 18 person capacity coaches allow easy-quick off and on thereby not wasting much time and make it possible for snapping great photos or viewing many iconic locations.By leaving the driving to experienced Moatrek driver-guides you do away with the self driving stress and finding your own way to various sights and activities. From the start with making initial reservations, on road traveling with special features included you will see much, have a restful holiday and wishing to come back to New Zealand and again travel with Moatrek.
We could not recommend a holiday more highly than the one we have just experienced, it surpassed all of our expectations. Our guide ensured that we enjoyed every activity and the trip to the full, his knowledge was expansive both on geography and with interesting anecdotes.
This was my third time in New Zealand but by far the best. We saw a lot of other places and had the best Kiwi guide we could wish for. The group was wonderful and I am a bit sad that it’s over.
