MoaTrek provided a wonderful opportunity to get to know the wonder and beauty of New Zealand. The tour offered the flexibility to choose to be active or not. It was at all times helpfully organised but not regimented. Our guide Andrew had extensive knowledge of the history of NZ and the environment including nature and culture. He added extensively to our understanding of NZ. He was always calm and helpful, finding ways to meet and facilitate expectations. A true asset! From our experience you can be assured and confident that future travellers will have a great trip with MoaTrek.
The Kakariki 16 day tour of New Zealand's North and South Island was the most marvellous holiday ever! MoaTrek certainly know what they are doing, all aspects of the trip were so well thought out and organised. What made our trip really enjoyable was our Kiwi guide Matt, he knew so much about every aspect of New Zealand and went out of his way to make the holiday special for everyone in our group. New Zealand is the most beautiful country and the best way to see it is with MoaTrek.
This was an exciting and carefully thought out tour, which offered a comprehensive and thoroughly enjoyable overview of the attractions of New Zealand. Richard was an excellent guide, giving a running commentary on the areas through which we were travelling, and giving us breaks when we needed them. He was extremely helpful with recommendations re activities and restaurants, and went out of his way to assist in every aspect of the tour.
This was a wonderful holiday with varied activities and a friendly group. I would really recommend small group touring over and above touring with a large group or travelling alone. We had access to sights and activities we would not have experienced and we had an excellent guide.
Kia Ora! Everyone we worked with made our adventure planning easy and successful. The trip was certainly above our expectations. There are not enough superlatives to describe having Matt Lysaght as our guide/driver/historian. The small group and the off the beaten path opportunities gave us real insight in to being a Kiwi. One can not really determine a true favourite with so many delightful adventures were present during our 16 day tour.
The trip of a lifetime! This trip far exceeded my expectations. It has been a dream to see NZ for twenty years and this trip allowed me to see the best sights. Our Kiwi guide provided such kind, gentle, patience with all of us and took special care to meet all our expectations. His special guided hikes and side trips made stops so memorable. Thank you.

We hoped for a good guide and driver. We got more than we expected. Our Kiwi guide was like an amiable mate who helped us understand and appreciate what we were seeing. The coach, overnight stops and the places we visited were well thought out and balanced with excellent accommodation.

A great tour which exceeded our expectations. The key reason for its appeal, in addition to the itinerary, was our Kiwi guide. He was the best that we have met on any tour we have taken.
I couldn't recommend Moatrek highly enough - what a pity they only operate in New Zealand! Our guide Matt was amazing; his stamina, knowledge and humour were second to none and I have previously travelled extensively. This was the first big trip I had completed on my own since and I now have the confidence to go anywhere, although I doubt I will find another Matt!
This tour has been amazing! The diversity of the location and activities have been greatly appreciated. The program really gives you a great overview of everything New Zealand has to offer, beaches, forests, mountains and it’s gorgeous. It’s hard to pick a highlight from the tour as I have found everything amazing, from the catamaran trip in Rotorua to skydiving in Queenstown. It’s been a once in a lifetime experience and I am happy to have shared it with all the participants of the tour. Thank you MoaTrek.
